the Police Force, who petitioned on the 27th of February last to be discharged from the Royal Marines that their request has been granted by the Admiralty.

In due course I received my discharge certificate, stating that I was discharged from the Royal Marines on being transfered to the Hongkong Police Force, that is being a Public Officer transfered from the Service of the Crown elsewhere than in the Colony to the Fixed Establishment of this Dolony (pension minute No.17 of the Regulations of Hongkong page 451). On page 447 minute 12 of the same Regulations what service entitles for pensions must be unbroken in this case my service has been unbroken for 26 years and 209 days and in Rules 8 and 9 of the same Regulations refer to Police Pensions. I pray that my request may be granted.

I have, &c.,

(Sd.) Frank Culliford,

Sub-Inspector.
